Fully Encased
TimberGuard's® innovative protection system fully encapsulates the entire piling with a consistent thickness creating a far superior performance system than sprayed or wrapped pilings. The benefit of polymer protection was discovered by our military decades ago. However, TimberGuard® is the only manufacturer to design a system which creates seamless protection without wrapping, sprays, staples or overlaps. Field studies have shown that joints, overlaps and attach points (such as staples) found in wrapped piles create areas of compromise leading to high failure rates. TimberGuard's® high performance system does not adhere to the surface, unlike sprayed or bonded wrap products, allowing the wood to expand and contract without compromising the intergrity of the protection system.
Environmentally Friendly
TimberGuard® has been approved for use in environmentally protected areas and bodies of water where treated wood and steel have been banned. TimberGuard® provides a significantly longer service life than conventionally treated wood pilings which are commonly destroyed by marine borer activity. This longer life-cycle eliminates environmental disturbance typically associated with the reinstallation due to failed wood pilings.

Great strides in clean our nations waterways have been made in the last few decades. As the water becomes cleaner, marine organisms which attack wood thrive. The marine borer population is increasing rapidly and causing traditional wood pilings to fail earlier than expected. TimberGuard's® protective polymer system is impervious to marine borers vastly extending the life expectancy of the piling. Inspections of other like products such as wrapped or sprayed piles show marine borers compromise the piling through attach points, overlap gaps and uneven or cracked coatings.
